I have been seeing Vida now for almost 2 years now, and she has helped me tremendously. Vida is an amazing dietitian and I honestly don't think I would have made as much progress in my recovery if it weren't for her. She is so compassionate, understanding, and non-judgemental that I could open up to her easily and share my darkest secrets-- without shame or judgement. Not only was I able to spill my guts her, I was able to make jokes and feel comfortable in a very nerve-wracking and anxiety-producing time. She also helped me gain the confidence to tell my family and loved ones about my eating disorder so they could support and help me.

Vida always knew (and still does know) exactly what I needed. She was there in residential when I cried multiple times a day, at almost every meal. She always knows when to let me sit there and cry but she also knows when to calm me down (by talking about cats, of course!) or give me a swift kick in the butt by making me face my fears and challenge my ED. She watched me as I cried and forgot who I was as my eating disorder gained control and took away my personality…. And she helped me nutritionally rehabilitate to the point I discovered who I was, gained my personality back, and was starting to laugh and have moments of joy again. 

I was sad to leave Vida and my team at res, but I knew I was ready because of the work I'd done with her. Coincidentally, as I was entering the outpatient realm of eating disorder treatment, so was Vida. When I found out, I immediately knew I had to reach out and continue to work with her as my outpatient dietitian.

I have gone from seeing Vida twice a week in residential, to once a week in outpatient, then to every other week, and now I only see Vida once a month. Soon the bittersweet day will come that I won't have to see Vida regularly (it will be a momentous day, both happy and sad) 

With Vida's help, I am proud to say I am solidly in recovery from my anorexia, depression, and anxiety.
